The Haushalter family lived on and worked the land surrounding what is now 6777 Gowanda State Road in Water Valley, Hamburg, Erie, New York from 1856 to 2008. In 2008, June Haushalter, the last of the family to live on the land, packed up 150 years of history (as well as a baggage cart from Buffalo's Union Terminal) and left New York to make a new home in Marblehead, Massachusetts.

Even now that none of the family live there, the Haushalter farmland remains an important piece of their identity and memory. This site honors that connection, as well as June Haushalter's stewardship of that history.
